On Gilmore's list of movies to see is "Happy Gilmore" because he was told that he was given that name because he is so happy! Gilmore was told that the character in the movie (played by Adam Sandler) is an unsuccessful hockey player who finds a talent playing golf. Gilmore doesn't play either of these games but he's up for a game of ball! Gilmore is an eight year old classic black and tan guy who weighs in at about 85 pounds. Even though he was picked up as a stray, he appears to have been well taken care of. His weight is good, his coat is nice, and he has no obvious health issues. When our volunteers were evaluating him, he was friendly with other dogs, even the small cotton ball types. And he was sharing his kennel at the shelter with a male Pit Bull. Gilmore is really friendly with people. During the evaluation, Gilmore walked into the room, went over to one of our volunteers, put his head in our volunteer's lap, and stood there, getting lots of love. Then he did a few laps around the room before lying down on the floor. When he looked at our volunteers, he had a look on his face that said, "OK, now what?" We told him that the "what" he could look forward to was being adopted by a family who would love and care for him forever.
