Curious about where Microsoft is taking its latest mobile operating system the following year? It looks like we have the answer. The folks over at WMPoweruser recently got their hands on what is claimed to be a leaked roadmap for Windows Phone and it does show us some interesting details.
According to the alleged roadmap, we?ll be seeing Windows Phone Tango only in Q2 of 2012. And judging by the description of the update ? Windows Phone Tango is going to be the update that introduces budget Windows Phone devices to the market. It wasn?t mentioned what Microsoft means by ?products with the best prices? ? is Microsoft going to remove features from the operating system to make it cheaper? Or will it only be available to low-end devices? We?ll just have to wait and see.
Q4 of 2012 ? the Apollo update is going to be what everybody is looking forward to. Its arrival should increase the overall number of Windows Phone device, introduce ?Competitive Superphones? and address the needs of business users. According to a Tweet from the Verge?s Tom Warren, the leaked roadmap is reported to be ?very old?, so the dates could possibly be wrong ? assuming the leaked roadmap was accurate in the first place.
Well, this means that consumers will have to hold out for quite a while longer if they?d like to get their hands on the Windows Phone ?Superphones? ? we?ll just wait and see what happens in 2012.
